1. Have a Plan
In my opinion this is the most important thing, how much planning you do will depend on how much decluttering you have to do.
If you are just starting out or have major decluttering to do I would suggest creating a monthly declutter schedule by focusing on one area of the house per month. This schedule is not set in stone, just a guide for you so you don’t get overwhelmed.
I included included a couple of printable below:

2. Would you Buy it Again
This is how I decide if I am going to keep an item or not. If you wouldn’t buy it again and you don’t use it then there no need to keep this item in your house. You can either donate it sell it or trash it.
3. Have a Designated Spot for Everything
This applies to every areas of your home.
Doing this will help you save money because you can easily see what you have so you are not buying multiples of the same item
4. You Don’t Need Multiples of the Same Items
You really don’t need two dryers, now there are exceptions to this and it will be different for everyone. Example if your wear a white tank top under your clothes every day then its reasonable to have 2 or 3 white tank tops because you actually use that very often and rotate between them.
5. Don’t Buy in Bulk
I am not saying not to buy anything in bulk, I still purchase a few items in bulk but only items I go through quickly. I do have backups of items I use often like toiletries but I limit to one.
There is a big difference between having backup of an item vs buying in bulk. My rule of thumb is designate a specific spot for these extras and only purchase what will fit in that spot
