If you haven’t figured it out by now I love Avocado! So you could say this birthday theme was more for me than Aiden, but I figured I might as well go for it before he becomes old enough to tell me what he wants!
Finding Avocado themed stuff
After I decided I wanted to go with an avocado theme I realized it was very difficult to find avocado theme party supply. It feels like I found every food imaginable except for avocado… On that note if you want to do a donut themed party you will find so many options! That’s when I decided this was going to be a DIY party!
The photo backdrop
Some of these things I already had like the stand to hold up to white photo backdrop, which I think is a good investment if you have kids or even if you don’t and you plan on having parties.
THE DIY HIGHCHAIR BANNER
I had a vision in mind for the high chair banner but I couldn’t find what I wanted anywhere! So I decided to make my own! and it was actually supper easy to make. Here is a tutorial.
THE DIY AVOCADOES
These were actually supper easy to make, you can see a tutorial for them HERE. To get the avocados to stick on the photo backdrop I hot glued a piece of paper to the back and just stuck some tape on there and it stayed put the entire party.
THE SNACK TABLE
This dresser that I always have in my living room just happen to match the theme perfectly, it’s an antique but I linked a similar one above.
THE FOOD
Both the cupcakes and cookies were made by my sister. For the cookies she used these 3 colors Green , White (to mix with the green for a lighter color) , brown. Since I couldn’t find an avocado cookie mold, we actually used an egg shaped cookie mold. For the cupcakes she used green icing in a can, ended up needing 2 cans for all the cupcakes.
We also had some tortillas chips and guacamole, which I recommend getting somewhere like Costco or Sam’s club if you have a membership.
MORE PARTY PROPS
If you have amazing sisters or other family members like me get them to dress up into an avocado! I had no idea they were doing this!
MATCHING OUTFITS
While this probably was not necessary I thought it was super cute. I customized and purchased all 3 T-shirts at Zazzle, a word of advise don’t wait a week before the party to order like I did, because you will end up paying ALOT for rush shipping.
We already had the matching shoes, I went with Converse because they are probably the cheapest sneakers that you can easily find matching pair for the entire family. If you have never worn Converse before they do run big.
